This schema set is intended to provide a full, accurate and extensible schema for iCalendar (RFC 5545) as embodied in xCal (iCalendar in XML) (RFC 6321).

Introduction

This document describes the icalendar in XML schema as defined by RFC 6321: icalendar in XML. It also contains a directory of links to these related resources, using Resource Directory Description Language.

iCalendar in XML Schema Version 1.0

iCalendar.xsd is the XML schema document for iCalendar in XML

This schema is version 1.0 as published by OASIS and CalConnect.

NOTE: This link references the main schema file which includes a number of related schema files referenced below. To cache these files locally copy the full directory at this location

iCalendar.rng is a (non-normative) RelaxNG schema for the iCalendar in XML Schema.

iCalendar-props.xsd is an XML schema module included by iCalendar.xsd which defines iCalendar properties.

iCalendar-params.xsd is an XML schema module included by iCalendar.xsd which defines iCalendar parameters.

iCalendar-valtypes.xsd is an XML schema module included by iCalendar.xsd which defines iCalendar value types.

iCalendar-availability-extension.xsd is an XML schema module included by iCalendar.xsd with definitions for the proposed VAVAILABILITY component

iCalendar-link-extension.xsd is an XML schema module included by iCalendar.xsd with definitions for the proposed link property

iCalendar-wscal-extensions.xsd is an XML schema module included by iCalendar.xsd with definitions for WS-Calendar extensions.

iCalendar-bw-extensions.xsd is an XML schema module included by iCalendar.xsd with definitions for Bedework extensions. This file provides an example of how x-properties can be defined without modifications to the standard schema files.

iCalendar-ms-extensions.xsd is an XML schema module included by iCalendar.xsd with definitions for some Microsoft x-properties.

iCalendar in XML Schema Working Version

This version reflects a later state of the iCalendar schema, one which has not been published as an official version. However, it may provide definitions of properties, components and parameters which have not yet been standardized.
