May 24-26 2010 CalConnect Mobile Calendaring Interoperability Test Event Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
The May 24-26 2010 CalConnect Mobile Calendaring Interoperability Test Event
will take place just before and in conjunction with Roundtable XVIII, hosted by
Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Note that the Mobile Calendaring
IOP Test Event will take place in parallel with the regular IOP Test Event.
The event will take place all day (from 0800-1800) on Monday and Tuesday, and from
0800 to 1200 noon on Wednesday. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks at breaks will
be served each day. There will be a dinner for all participants and observers
Monday evening.
The Mobile Calendaring Interoperability Test Event will cover Mobile
device testing, primarily ActiveSync synchronization.
This will be based on the Mobile Calendar Interoperability Test Suite document produced by CalConnect
CalConnect Mobile Calendaring
Test Suite V1.1.
This document defines a detailed set of test suites to test the
interoperability of calendar data exchange between mobile devices and/or
desktop clients via synchronization servers. As synchronization continues
to be a major pain point for many users of calendar tools (in particular
members of CalConnect) we feel it important to continue on-going testing
to improve overall interoperability.
A page on the CalConnect Wiki has been set up for organizations who plan
to participate to identify which clients, servers, and versions they are
interested in testing and to record specific scenarios. Please see
ActiveSync Mobile Interoperability Test Planning.
TC MOBILE will be discussing the test event on future calls and member representatives
are invited to participate. Calls are every other Wednesday at 11:00 Eastern.
For more information about the Regular Interoperability Test Event and for general information
about the IOP Test Events, please see IOP Test Event May 2010.

scenarios or possible testing partners you wish to pursue.
CalConnect will invite all registered participants to two or three conference calls prior
to the event to discuss logistics, testing scenarios, etc.
Co-Located Consortium Roundtable
CalConnect Interoperability Test Event participants who are not Consortium members will not be able to participate in the
other Consortium activities unless their organization is an observer at this Roundtable.
However, a non-member organization
participating in the IOP Test Events can join the
Consortium at the event, become a member immediately,
and be able to participate as a member in the technical committee and
roundtable meetings.
