Roundtable VII -- 26-29 September 2006

CalConnectSM Interoperability Test Event - 26-27 September
Roundtable VII - 27-29 September

As of September 14, 2006

The Seventh Roundtable of The Calendaring and Scheduling Consortium, together with a CalConnect Interoperability Test Event (C.I.T.E.), will be held in Cupertino, California (Silicon Valley, San Francisco Bay Area) on Tuesday-Friday, 26-29 September, 2006, hosted by Apple Computer.

The C.I.T.E. and Roundtable will be held serially: interoperability testing will take place all day Tuesday and Wednesday through noon. The Roundtable will begin after lunch on Wednesday and run through lunch on Friday (two full days). This will allow C.I.T.E. participants to fully participate in the Roundtable as well, either as members or as observers (if they are from a non-member and wish to stay on to assess the Roundtable).

We also plan to conduct an expanded version of the Federated Free/Busy demo which the Consortium conducted in July at The Open Group meeting in Miami (see below).

Registration:

Registration information for the Roundtable may be found at Roundtable Registration; registration information for the IOP Test Event is at IOP Registration. Please be aware that you must register separately for the Roundtable and for the IOP testing event if you plan to do both.

IOP Test Event:

Interoperability testing will comprise multiple scenarios including CalDAV server and client testing, Min-IOP testing, and iCalendar, iTIP, iMIP interoperability testing. A special series of tests is planned for Extended Daylight Saving Time support, to go into effect in March of 2007. We are also planning IOP testing around the response to the Open Group's Federated Free/Busy Challenge. (See the TC FREEBUSY page for more information about this Challenge and CalConnect's involvement.

The interoperability testing event is open to members and non-members; please see IOP September 2006 for current information. Check back often as this will be updated as we get nearer to the event.

Roundtable VII:

The Roundtable will be comprised of Technical Committee meetings, to which all members and observers are welcome, plus some additional sessions and committee meetings which will be determined closer to the event. Friday morning will be the full Plenary meeting of the Consortium, open to all participants. This session will include report-outs from all Technical Committees, possibly demonstrations resulting from the IOP testing earlier in the week, and establishment of future goals and directions for the Consortium.
