EVENTPUB Technical Committee

Revised 14 January 2010

Charter

TC EVENTPUB was reactivated to carry on the work of the original TC EVENTPUB committee.

TC EVENTPUB will work to establish the standards and best practices for the event publication community. Public events tend to be outwards facing, managed, and consumed by multiple and diverse clients.

The Event Publication Technical Committee focuses on the unique aspects of events and their required field structures intended for public audiences. These fields are meant to enable event categorization and search in an open yet standardized way, and enable easy discovery of events in local areas or other areas of interest.

TC EVENTPUB will maintain strong liaisons with other CalConnect Technical Committees engaged in relevant and mutual work, in particular TC RESOURCE, TC USECASE, and TC XML.

Begin and End Dates

Reactivated:   Autumn 2009
End: Undetermined

Work Products and Milestones

July 2010 Initial draft and IETF submission of RFC to define iCalendar extensions for "related external information".
