CalConnect conducts workshops frequently but relatively few open public workshops. When these are small or half-day workshops they are usually scheduled on Wednesday afternoon of the Conference, but a provision is made to allow people who are not Conference attendees (and may not be representatives of CalConnect members) to attend. CalConnect has also experimented with day-long workshops, which are usually held on Tuesday, in parallel with the Interoperability Test Event. However, these have proved inconvenient for those who wish to attend both the workshop and the test event.
