The Calendaring and Scheduling Consortium will establish and maintain relationships with external standards organizations and other organizations as appropriate to further its purposes. Such relationships may take the form of formal liaisons, informal partnerships, or reciprocal membership agreements, at the discretion of the Board of Directors suitability for the external partner.
We maintain a strong working relationship with the Internet Engineering Task Force as most of the standards towards which the Consortium contributes work products are IETF RFCs. CalConnect works primarily with the CALEXT Working Group in the ART area. Ken Murchison of CMU is the CalConnect Liaison.
We have a formal Category A Liaison with ISO TC 211, Geographic Information / Geomatics. Peter Tam of Ribose, Dave Thewlis of CalConnect, and Ronald Tse of Ribose, are the CalConnect Liaisons. Peter Tam is our nominated represntative to ISO TC 11 WG 7, Information Communities.
We have a Reciprocal Membership relationship with OASIS, the Organization for the Advancement of Structured Information Systems, in particular to further work on the XML representation of iCalendar (xCal) and web services support for calendaring and scheduling information (CalWS). Mike Douglass, of the Spherical Cow Group, is the CalConnect Liaison.
The Consortium no longer has an active liaison relationship with the Open Mobile Alliance Data Synchronization Working Group.
